St. Thomas’ Day
Open Day
The Open Day provide an opportunity to experience day to day life at Colégio de S. Tomás. It is held every year on the closest Saturday to St. Tomas’ day, 28 January.
As well as being an opportunity to showcase academic work, the Open Day is a reflection of our way of being, what we believe to be a complete, careful and challenging educational model. This is the time for us to show families and everyone who visits us that life at this Catholic school is a call to everyone to be a part of the good of all.

Missions
Missions
In 2016, at the World Youth Days, Pope Francis challenged young people when he told them that the world did not need sofa youth, asleep from reality and asking them to exchange the sofa for a pair of shoes. The Tomás Mission was born out of this provocation.
It is proposed to boys and girls between 14 and 17 years old, students between 9th and 12th year, and to adults who wish to accompany them, to make use of their vacation time to go on a totally free service to the communities that welcome us.
In the different regions of the country where we leave to once a year, we work with children, young people, the elderly and homeless people, visiting homes, hospitals, helping with small repairs and chores, always in collaboration with parishes and social support institutions. The Mission always ends with a presentation/theater for the local community.
It has been a privilege to be able to witness the free, responsible, generous way with which each missionary, over the years, has adhered to this proposal, effectively exchanging the comfort of the sofa for a plunge into the reality, often harsh, of those who most suffer with loneliness and poverty. The experience has been one of gratitude because we find that what we receive is incredibly greater than what we are going to offer.
